The typical house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and most importantly a living room. You know what it takes to improve the design of your living room? The elements are the tools or raw materials, like paints are the basics to a painter. Design elements include space, line, shape, color and texture. The design principles are about how you use these elements and the balance, emphasis, rhythm, proportion and scale, and harmony and unity.
Element # 1: Space
The space defines the boundaries and set limits on functional and decorative things you can do. Usually not determine the space, but will be faced with the challenge of using the space effectively.
Element # 2: Line
The lines in a room are second only to the color in importance when it comes to setting the mood or a general feeling of a room. Window fashion lines should support the dominant line of the room.
